Maiden Hair Fern

Sale price£10.00

It's no surprise that this fern is also called a fairy fern with is dainty lacy foliage.

The plant comes in a plastic nursery pot as standard. You can add on a pot of your choice if you would like one; the maiden hair fern works well in one of our handmade concrete pots or a Bergs Julie pot in terracotta or grey.

Easy to care for? No, tricky

Plant care instructions and tips: This is a beautiful fern but is a bit picky so should only be adopted by the green fingered. This plant will enjoy being kept in indirect light, mist its leaves regularly and don't let the soil try out. The maiden hair fern is a thirsty plant! Maiden Hairs will be happiest in a shady spot away from direct sunlight. Thanks to its tropical upbringing, the Maiden Hair loves a humid atmosphere so a kitchen or bathroom is a perfect place to display.

Avoid getting the soil too dry so make sure you keep well-watered whilst not allowing to sit in water for extended periods of time as this will encourage root rot.

Place in indirect light, a north facing window sill is ideal.

Keep the soil of the plant moist but never soggy. Allow the top 2-3” to dry out before watering. Never let the plant sit in water as this can lead the roots to rot.

Plant height: 25-30cm (height includes pot and is approximate)

Pot dimensions of standard plastic pot: D:12cm x H:10cm

We recommend the Bergs Julie / Copenhagen size 14cm pot.
