Mary and Mark’s timeless, elegant whimsical white wedding flowers
For their August wedding in London, Mary and Mark chose Botanique Workshop as their wedding florist to create a floral scheme that felt timeless, classic, and quietly elegant. Set within the pared-back interiors and architectural simplicity of St. John, Smithfield in London, the whimsical blooms were designed to complement the space, not compete with it.
“The flowers were absolutely beautiful and we received so many compliments on them. The colour scheme and flowers used were exactly what I had envisioned and complemented the venue so well.” Mary

A touch of calm with off-the-peg
Falling in nicely with the couples wanting to keep things simple, they chose from our Off-the-Peg Wedding Flowers Range - which we have specifically designed to relieve some of the ‘wedding planning’ pressure. A touch of calm in the whirlwind of choices!
Next .. the colours!
White and whimsical, with a touch of blush
From the six off-the-peg collections we have Mary was drawn to the clean, timeless feel of our Whimsical Whites wedding flowers, which she lightly customised (inline with our 10% customisation fee) with introducing soft blush tones and seasonal hydrangeas, allowing the flowers to feel personal while remaining true to the original palette. As with all our wedding flowers, the emphasis remained on seasonal flowers at their best, a balanced and natural colour palette, and our signature wild and whimsical arrangement style.
After choosing the colour scheme, it was all about choosing the right items to complement the ceremony and the reception.

The Bride and Groom
For the ceremony at Crown Court Church of Scotland, the approach was intentionally minimal. A bridal bouquet in whimsical whites and a matching buttonhole corsage for the groom - both complemented by the blush flowers added in. Mary’s bridal bouquet was designed to feel classic and unfussy.

Wedding reception decor
At the reception at St. John, Smithfield, flowers were used to quietly frame the space. Larger wedding vase arrangements anchored the bar and entrance, adding structure without overwhelming the room. Bud vases were dotted across dining tables, bringing softness and a sense of ease, while milk bottle arrangements welcomed guests as they arrived.

Glass cylinder candles in mixed sizes added warmth as the day moved into evening, complementing the pared-back interiors and creating an atmosphere that felt relaxed and elegant rather than over-styled.

Mary’s bouquet was placed in a vase beside the guest book, becoming part of the reception setting before being taken home at the end of the day. In the days that followed, it continued to scent their kitchen, a small reminder of the wedding lingering quietly beyond the celebration itself.

Quietly taken care of
With the florals chosen and items agreed, everything else fell gently into place. Flowers arrived ready to be enjoyed, and hired pieces like vases and candles were collected once the celebrations had drawn to a close, allowing Mary and Mark to focus on the day itself.
