Meet Danielle… A poet at heart with a love for roses

Meet Danielle, one of the thoughtful, quietly creative faces at Botanique. A perfect day for Danielle is simple and peaceful, a chocolate croissant, a peaceful writing session and a cuddle with her snuggly cat. From delicately scented garden roses like White O’Hara to the fleeting magic of sweet peas in spring, Danielle’s floral tastes are rooted in elegance and seasonality. And she’s just one degree away from a Footloose icon….

Q: What’s your favourite way to spend a day off in London?

I'm an absolute fiend for pastry, so I'd start with a chocolate croissant at a bakery, followed by a trip to the National Poetry Library for some peaceful writing time.

Q: If you could only have one flower or plant in your home forever, what would it be - and why?

It would have to be garden roses, a delicately scented variety like White O'Hara is timelessly elegant and impactful. But if we're talking seasonal specific, in the spring time it would have to be sweet peas. They're just so special!

Q: What’s a small joy or ritual that brightens your everyday?

Coming home to have a cuddle with my cat. He's the snuggliest and always happy to see me!

Q: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

I attended high school at the same high school used in the original Footloose film. So my six degrees to Kevin Bacon is just one!

Q: Do you have a favourite maker or product in the Botanique shop right now?

I love our range of own-brand, hand thrown ceramics. The vases are the perfect shape for displaying flowers in the home. My favourite glaze is 'Toasted'.

Q: What’s one thing you’ve learned from working at Botanique that you’ll carry with you?

The absolute joy of teaching floral workshops. It's so rewarding helping other people learn the craft of floristry and discover their own creative expression.

Q:You’re in charge of the playlist in the shop - what’s your go-to song or artist?

Wet Leg, Foals, Arxx and Olivia Dean are my go-to.
