Sentei Garden Secateurs

Sale price£32.00

Sentei Garden Secateurs are great a great all round garden scissors. Use them for cut flowers, dead-heading and light pruning.

The super sharp carbon steel blades can make clean cuts on both woodier stems and softer green stems. Traditional round handles make them extra comfortable and allow for cutting precision.

Hold these slightly differently to ‘normal’ scissors’ – your index finger should rest on the outer edge of the handle.

Most of the Niwaki sharp tools are made from carbon steel - this means they may, through regular use, stain (and eventually rust) and gradually lose their edge. Please read the care tips below to keep your tools looking and working good for longer.

Care tips

  • While Japanese steel is hard and sharp, it can also be more prone to brittleness than some people are accustomed to and could chip if mistreated.
  • Do not cut wire or other hard materials
  • Apply even pressure and avoid twisting
  • Cut diagonally across branches and be aware of maximum cut dimensions
  • For heavier cut, use base of the blade, not tip
  • Keep the tool clean after use: wipe off leaf resin, rust and gunk
  • Once cleaned, dry, apply oil and keep it in cool dry place
